Balloons

Lately, several someones have asked about the the art of twisting or coming out of retirement. I am not sure I am ready to come out of retirement but it is flattering my restaurant wants a real twister. So here's some of the BIG work we have done....

Anna twisted most of the tree... but we all spent some time debating the design and I inflated most of the balloons....I think.. it was around 600 balloons...correct me if I am wrong ladies....

John and I spent a Saturday designing the snowmachine. I made John draw me a snowmachine from all angles and I proceed to twist it up.

This is the second Moose...I am sure you have all seen him somewhere...he is famous. I liked the first one better, but I could not find the pictures. I really want the picture of his head hanging like a mount on my wall....Sister...Anna???

  1. Wow, those are so neat to see. I wanna see more! You girls need to put together a photo blog of all your work. All of you are so good at it.

Whats the next big twisting project?

  4. I have been sitting on the sidelines watching this for the past two years and as normal offering no advice. It is something that "you guys" need to do, whether together or individual and refer customers back and forth but all of you have a great talent for this. Your designs are far more advanced than any I have seen before. It appears that you have the "market" in metro LA, the larger projects you can do at home. As long as the market does not get satuated in the LA area, you should do well with your product. Remember to price it for what it is worth, I know you have done some freebie work and you need to continue to do that on occasion just to build the business, but once you have them and they come back for a repeat - charge them high. Working for tips is great, but if I were to do it, I would charge the business a "flat fee" for showing up as well as the tips. You never know where this will take you, on the news last night the big auction house auctioned off Andy Warhals famous painting of a can of Cambell Soup for over $10 million dollars, they had expected to get up $15 million! Go for it - I am nearing retirement and will need to be "kept"!

  5. Ok, us Ravin's aren't so technologically saavy. We'll have to get into the groove! Anyhow, I've got more hot dogs than you could imagine for Memorial Day Weekend. So don't buy any! Really, all we'll need is hot dog buns. The Quicky Queen is retiring and I've inhereted all the weiners;) Go for it with the balloon art gals- If you can make money getting twisted I'm all for it.

  6. It must be "spring" one of those Ravin birds showed up unexpectedly with a weiner! You did know that there are now other flocks to contend with, the Bald Eagle and the Woodpeckers! So, you are also going to retire - know what you feel. I was so very happy when we finally closed the Homer store. We will need to get together and share our "Homer Business" experieinces! Good to see that you are visiting the sites.

  12. Your link sites on your page do not tell you when they were last updated. It is a great feature, what you need to do is to go into the main frame and adjust the
dohickie to yes, then change your settings back to what they were originally and hit the delete key. Then you will need to cut, copy and paste all of your links, drag them to the waste paper basket, deposit them neatly in the receptacle. Retype all of your link sites on your dashboard and post those to the mainframe whatchacallit file and hit enter. Do not empty the trash until you are satsified that they are installed and working - you may need to retrieve them when you turn your system over to the "thunker"

  13. I read that name ... i was just wondering if you were talking to me... If i changed my name to that ...i would have more hits then Valette!! Maybe???? No ... i couldn't....

I don't know what you were were "tinkering with" but it worked....

  14. me again- with more stuff for camping thanks to the Quicky Queen again. I have TONS of chocolate bars, reese's cups and krackle bars for the smores. Really, about 100 bars. Also, a case of hazelnut and irish cream creamers. Can you tell we're itchin to go camping?! Is there still room for an unkindness of Ravin's around the campfire? See you all in a few weeks!

  15. Oh, and I haven't crated a blog yet, since I have no idea what I'm doing. Anyone want to assist? I may not be technologically saavy, but I am easy to train! (And I don't mess on the carpet either)

  16. I'm going to suggest we have twisters in the group, and should build an "eco-dome" over the hole in the wall.

  18. Mama Ravin you got this far... once your in I can set up a custom page... may cost you a few chocolate bars but hey..I am a professional!

  19. Heidi is good, as far as professional, I am not sure because a professional would not double clutch a mouse. Now I see how you get so many hits on your site - you "double clutcher"!
