Baby’s First

My baby had her first MRI, today. It looks like she tore something in her knee. Her right knee (the one we have been fixing) is swollen, she is having some pain, and she cannot put any weight on it.

We took her cast off last Monday and started using her new leg brace. By Wednesday night it was swollen. Thinking the brace was too tight, causing the damage, we quite using the brace and started treating the swelling. Friday night it was no better, and all of the stretch we had gotten with the casting is gone. I am kicking myself for not getting her in to the doctor that Friday.

Today I called the Botox Doc, the swelling hasn’t gone down so it wasn’t the brace, how could she of hurt it when it was protected with the by the brace, her leg was perfect after we took off the cast so it has to be the Botox. By the time I got an appointment, I was thinking the Botox was festering in her leg.

Botox Doc sat on her foot and could move the bottom part of her leg away from the kneecap. He ordered no weight bearing, elevated leg, Advil, X-rays, and a MRI. We made a follow up appointment for Wednesday. He will take a look at results and if it is to bad he will get her in to see a ortho doc tomarrow. Two steps forward three steps back…

Oh yeah …today was the day she was supposed to be born.

  1. Wow so sorry...I did not figure an injury because the brace was on...wonder how she managed to injure it with the brace...I hope all is okay and the solution is an easy one...poor Tay...my heart goes out to her. If it is not one thing it is another for her physical well being...but in spirit she soares high above the rest of us. So sorry you have to deal with it all...sometimes being a parent is our own worst enemy...eats the heart and mind...So if we had Tay move her Birthday to March 20...January would not be such a bitch...we would have more money to party...

  2. Our hearts go out to all of you, we just wish that we could do something to help - you remind our Taylor girl of something that I told her several years ago, "I will be there to dance with her on her wedding day!" Our love to all of you.

  3. Hey "dinker" you need to "tinker", evidently the comments are not getting to your post site - I have refreshed, erased, everything and it still only shows two comments. Want me to "dinker" with it?

  4. The comments seem to be working? User error...

We always remind T about her wedding day and that special dance. It is a real motivator.

T is doing alrigth with this...it means no real chores for a few more weeks.

  6. What was the results from your your doctor visit yesterday or is it scheduled for tomorrow? Is Taylor still a candidate for a visit to the Shiners this year?

  7. T is a tough kid - with the docs, and all, for years, now. She can tell them what most of the tools are named and when they say something in medical drivel, she probably understands...
She gets discouraged, but has a golden heart and soul with magic beyond belief. She was born a miracle - she may as well continue to be one.
