Thanks, now I know who got me hooked on smokes, Barney Rubble and a bunch of movie starts, but I never smoked Winston, Camel, Chesterfield or Newport brands - but I casn still blame them and as long as I am am looking for deep pockets, why not he Navy - they sold them to us through our Shipos Store for .10 cents a pack when we were in International waters. Come to think of it, cigarettes were also stocked in all of the "K' rations and survival kits - so it is everyone's fault but my own. I would also like to order one of those play drive in movie toys, especially for $5.98 each - I loved "Have Gun Will Travel" (Can your sing the firstliners of the theme song?( answer: "Have Gun will travel with the card of the man" - trivia question -"what symbol was on the face of his business card?
What I really like is the new TRUTH ads. If you notice their new slogan is WHUDFXUP? This was easy for my children to read. I guess it is ok as long as they are not smoking!
Well I think if they played these adds on the TV today I would quit smoking. I may just watch them over and over again...seems kinda stupid...that Flintstones one...and I can remember it!!...and the doctor one...I remember it too....I was not much older than Melissa...we lived in Colorado...I remember thinking WOW I am gonna be a doctor...they smoke exotic cigarettes...I would also like to point out that back then...they did not know this was bad...doctors studied smoking then too...we just did not have the technology we do today...and trying to guilt those that were brought up with these adds for smoking is WRONG!! You can not give acceptance of something and then deem it wrong...smoking will decline...todays youth are not lighting up...they are being brain washed to NOT smoke...unlike the commercials here...and great job on the new layout sister...it is awsome.....
