New Coke Challenge

Last Memorial Day Week (notice I left the "end" off, I here by officate the weekend shall now last at lest 7 days) we had the opportunity to do some little science experiments, JD made explosives (that were a big fizzle), the kids showed us how people made clay many many years ago (that is not turning back into sand pit dust as it ages), Eric proved what temperature oil will catch fire, and Dad showed us the Mentos experiment.

Here is a challenge (its worth the download time, Dad.) ....Memorial Day Weekend 2007 theme should be “Poetry in action” ….…lets see what you can do! WARNING >>>> DO NOT >>>>DO NOT DO THIS!

  1. Definetly worth the download time and what a great idea, we will incorporate the diet coke / momento competition into our HITWRA entertainment schedule. We will have two categories, one for those under 15 and one for those over. I will work on the rules, but no self inflicted fountains as was demonstrated on your one link - I can see big things coming from this. those with plumbing skills should have the advantage. What fun and what a great waste of Coke!

  2. Want to tahnk you for a sleepless night, all night long I kept running engineering plans through my thoughts for my entry into the 1st Annual HITWRA Coca-cola classic. By the way, can I invite my brother in law to enter the competition. Showed it to your mother today - she was impressed and wants to make an entry but doesn't want to waste any coca cola.

  3. I see you are going to the new security system that your sister has! Late note, on my way back from closing the store tonight, I had to try out a concept that I thought about last night while trying to go to sleep, so I picked up a two litter bottle of propellent and the ingnitors. I have advanced far enough into my research that I no longer use trade names and exchanged them for technical terms. What I discovered, is if you extract the propellent from the container and heat it to a light boiling stage in the microwave oven and then return it to the original container and increase the ignitor by four the pressure created is about ten times that of room temeprature or cold propellent. Due to darkness, I was not able to accurately measure the altitude that was achieved, although with
the contianer sitting on my deck, I now have brown snow on the peak of the roof! I am hoping your mother will not notice the windows when she gets up in the morning - it was great. I will try it again and make an attmept to get it on camera.
