On my way home from the store today, driving up Patterson, I saw a strange site, a Magpie chasing a squirrel across the road. The Magpie was ascending from the squirrels back, while I was just trying to grasp what exactly I was seeing, I forgot I was driving and I ran over the squirrel. I don't think I have ever killed any animal (maybe a fish or two) until this week.
Sounds like you cost the magpie a meal, unless he likes squirrel burgers...hehe...as for running over the poor squirrel...he was being chased by a big bird then boom ran over by a mini van...now that is a bad day...hehe...
ReplyDeleteYou aree not having a good week concerning animals. Magpies love to tease small hairy animals. Likely they were just playing with each other until you cut the game short. We have a daily ritual between Mama Cat and the Magpies. They tease and chase her and then she turns and teases and chases them, it is one of those love / hate relationships. Ole One Eye, has nothing to do with them except chase them even if they are in flight sixty feet above the ground.
ReplyDeleteI remember a moose that caused a lot more damage than a lil' ol' squirrel back in '92. That was a long night for a couple of stitches and EMT & Trooper that took their sweet time and didn't care much. I remember the Trooper's report saying, "wearing seat belts". I also remember the dog pounding into the back of my seat and picking glass pieces out of ourselves for months.
ReplyDeleteA friend rolled her truck swerving from hitting an animal. The animal was a squirrel!
ReplyDeleteGood title. ;)
