  1. Now we are stocking pike! Where is Cheeny Lake at? Is it named after the Vice President? I think "pike" were named after the famous early west explorer for whom "Pike's Peak" in Colorado is named after. Contrary to popular belief, the "Dolly Varden" were not named after "Dolly Parton (whom just happend to be the Girl Scouts "Woman of the Year" this year) but was actually named after dance hall girls in Montana. Just thoughts to ponder.

  4. We were doing a good thing - taking 100 + pike smolt from a used-to-hold-rainbows lake. We came a LONG way from depleting the numbers of pike, but all of them died (aside from the few my catfish and cichlids ate for dinner).

  6. Did I hear the news correctly that there was a drowning on Cheeny Lake on Sunday? Perhaps, some wanting to fish pike.
